They do say you should always face your fears. One man did just that and the video of it is truly something else, turning him into an unlikely viral star.
Eriq Adame, a US Marine, has always been afraid of heights, for which reason he never rode a roller coaster. Somehow, he thought it would be a good idea to cure himself of this phobia by facing it head-on, with a tandem jump from an airplane. Why not shoot for the stars if you can, right?

This happened in June this year, in the skies above Jamul, California, but we’re only getting video of it now. Eriq sold the rights to the video to Caters TV, who posted it to YouTube to further his short-lived Internet career. And now we can all laugh at and with Eriq, for the way he reacted during the jump.

You can see the video at the bottom of the page and, yes, as mentioned in the headline, he fainted 3 separate times during the jump. The first time he did, the instructor barely noticed. Still, Eriq recovered quickly and continued to scream and swear as before, only to faint 2 more times before reaching ground.

And here’s the funniest part: despite what must have been a scary yet exhilarating experience, at the end of it, Eriq seems quite happy with how it played out. He even says he had a good time and claims he’s feeling well. Either he’s lying because he knows he’s being filmed and he’s trying to put on a brave face, or he really did have a blast despite the fact that he passed out 3 times.

Not that we’re judging him for fainting or anything. Heights can be scary for a lot of people and even many of those who are not afraid of them would flat-out refuse to skydive, even with a trained instructor. It took guts for Eriq to do his first big thing regarding heights on such a scale, and it took even more guts for him to post the content online, fully knowing that some would laugh at him.
