US GPE Complete Charlotte Headquarters

US Grand Prix Engineering – mostly known as US F1, despite Bernie Eccleston'e clear suggestion that the team should change its name because of obvious marketing reasons – today unveiled that their North American headquarters in now complete.

Following their confirmation on the 2010 Formula One roster by the FIA, the team has done some intensive work to secure both the functionality of their headquarters and the design of their 2010 challenger. In a media statement today, Ken Anderson revealed the team's HQ in Charlotte, North Carolina – formerly used by NASCAR outfit Joe Gibbs Racing – is now ready to welcome its new occupants.

In addition to the press release, the team also disclosed some photos from inside the headquarters. Also, Anderson suggested that the next point of order in the team's preparation for the F1 debut is setting a second base in Europe. From now on, all efforts will be put in that direction, in addition to continuing the development of their F1 car.

Our world headquarters is now complete and fully functional, and the 2010 race car is in the construction phase. Our timing (for the car) is according to plan, with an early November 'roller' and a finished car in time for January 2010 testing,” said Anderson in an interview released by the team earlier today.

What most people see – the transporters, motor coaches and the 'lifestyle' side of Formula One – are a much smaller part of the overall budget and will be located at our European facility, which we'll tell you about soon,” added the US GPE part-owner.

Peter Windsor, the other man in charge of the US GPE project, hinted this week that the North American outfit will most certainly not have 2 American drivers in their 2010 lineup. In an interview with Autosport, Windsor confirmed that the lack of young, talented US drivers who currently hold a super license is the main cause for the team's change of strategy.
