In case you prefer driving with the top down instead of under a metal roof, the 4 Series Convertible is the perfect alternative to the already excellent 4 Series Coupe model. That being said, a lot of people have been wondering just how much such an ‘arrogance’ might cost them. Now we know.
The new Convertible will start at USD49,675 in the US. Of course, that’s the base price for the 428i model, fitted with a 245 HP 4-cylinder 2-liter engine that’s also making 350 Nm of torque, plenty for a car this size.

The second model in the US line-up is the higher-spec 435i that starts at USD55,825 and will be coming around with the brilliant N55 3-liter turbocharged engine that makes 306 HP and 400 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque.

Comparing the prices of the convertibles over the coupe counter offerings you’ll notice that for the open-top fun you’ll have to pay USD8,250 more for the 428i and USD8,900 for the 435i. At the same time, stock kit is basically the same on both the convertibles and the coupes.

Customizing is a big part of BMW’s pricing scheme so you should know that the Luxury Line will set you back USD1,700 on the 428i and USD1,400 on the 435i, the Sport Line will be USD1,950 on the 428i and USD1,550 on the 435i whilst the M Sport line will be USD3,000 for the 428i and USD2,600 for the 435i.
