There are plenty of e-scooters and e-bikes on the market, but an e-trike is not something you see every day. Some have tried to develop their own concept and failed, but Oguzhan Albayrak, a German entrepreneur, is determined to bring his e-trike to life.
Uready is the name of this new invention that looks like a child’s toy, yet it’s a legitimate means of transportation that can take you where you want to go, fast and safely. Albayrak wanted to create something that’s even more fun than an e-scooter and was inspired by the thought of a jet ski on asphalt.

And it seems that riding on an e-trike in the city could feel somewhat similar to being on a jet ski, at your favorite resort.

What’s interesting about an e-trike is that you can lean when making turns, and that’s thanks to the tilt technology that enables a pretty impressive inclination angle. What makes the e-trike feel like a jet ski is the wide stance of the rider, with the feet placed on the e-trike’s footrests. These are also easily foldable, for a more compact design.

If you’re wondering how fast this e-trike can go, according to its inventor, the 500 W motor can reach a maximum speed of 12 mph (20 kph). Also, Uready has one integrated battery, for a range of a maximum of 22 miles (35 km). The battery is rechargeable and can last for a decent amount of time if you’re not planning to ride your e-trike uphill too often.

The standard version comes with one integrated battery, with the possibility of ordering a second one, for those who want an increased range.

Uready is also fitted with disk brakes and a lock for the tilt mechanism that straightens the frame so that the rider can park safely. Still a work in progress, Albayrak’s invention will also have lights, fenders and a foldable frame.

The Germany-based entrepreneur intends to build and deliver 45 e-trikes, with production starting this summer. He is currently raising funds for his project on Kickstarter and, if all goes well, the first Uready e-trikes should get to their owners by September.
