The Land Rover Freelander 2 has been around for a few years now, without any real modifications to its basic recipe. Now, it has received an extensive list of upgrades, improvements and modifications to bring it in-line with the rest of the range, while also attempting to push it upmarket.
The list of modifications includes revised exterior styling, which features a “sportier and purposeful look”. It also gets two new trim levels, called ‘Dynamic’ and ‘HSE Lux’, the latter of which being the most luxurious in the range. Aside from the visible exterior tweaks, the Freelander 2 also gets a refreshed interior, with a new center console with a 7-inch touchscreen display, rear-view camera and electric parking brake.
As an optional extra, buyers will be able to specify a 17-speaker 825W Meridian surround-sound system which offers a “concert-like experience”. Along with the kit and cosmetic upgrades, the two-wheel drive version of the SUV, called the eD4, achieves an impressive 6.0l/100km (47.1 mpg) and CO2 emissions as low as 158 g/km, giving it hatchback-like levels of fuel efficiency and emissions.
