Even though the sedan variant of the next Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG (W205) hasn't been unveiled yet, AMG engineers are already close to finalizing the last details on the station wagon version of the model, with a couple of pre-production prototypes of the car being recently spotted both on the Nurburgring Nordschleife and near the famed circuit, at a Mercedes-Benz testing center.
As the adjacent images will arguably show you, the upcoming C 63 AMG in T-Modell guise hasn't been spared from its baptism on the Green Hell, with the model's chassis being honed on the world's most grueling circuit, just like its sedan brother.

So far, the most recent reports and speculations regarding the model's powerplant say that it will have a de-tuned variant of the recently-announced M178 engine in the Mercedes-AMG GT.

Sporting the M177 internal code name, the four-liter twin-turbocharged V8 should is said to offer 476 hp and at least 600 Nm (443 lb ft) of torque, making it around 5% more powerful than the legendary M156 of the previous generation of the model.

As far as fuel economy goes, the improvement should be at least 25 percent compared with its predecessor, with the only downside as opposed to the naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter most probably being the less drama developed by its exhaust system.

Those expecting a dual-clutch transmission will be disappointed, as the tried and true seven-speed MCT gearbox will be carried over from the C 63 AMG W204, albeit with improved software.

If the C 63 AMG W205 sedan gets unveiled this Fall, at or around the LA Auto Show, the station wagon variant should follow up after a month or so, with the market launch to take place in March 2015.
