With so many examples of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS PDK having received a Gulf Livery, the infamous motorsport collaboration being "tattooed" onto the skin of the Rennsport Neunelfer has almost turned into a cliche.
So what do you do if you happen to own an otherwise-rare GT3 RS and still want to express yourself using this golden era color scheme?

Well, the rear-engined coupe we have here might just bring a respectable answer to that question. As trained aficionados can easily notice, we are dealing with the Gulf livery, but the White bits showing the name of the company or the just-as-white racing numbers that usually accompany the Blue and Orange play.

Speaking of which, we'll remind you the story behind Gulf Racing takes us back to the 1930s origins of the label, but it wasn't until three decades later that the lubricant producer's colorful sponsorships exploded, leading to the popularity we know today.

As for the pic here, this comes from Spencer Berke, a Lamborghini sales guy based in the US (via full-time gearhead Shmee150) - the track-savvy Porscha was spotted in Costa Messa, California. And yes, we are dealing with Lava Orange here, which is the model's launch color (check out the image gallery to your right for more of this also-delicious shade).

Let's not forget those 911 Rs

Speaking of uber-special 911 color choices, those of you following our Zuffenhausen articles might have noticed the recent 2017 911 R hue tales we published.

Despite the R's stick shift quenching purists' thirst for a manual, the all-about-the-driving machine doesn't seem to have reached a cult car status quite as high as the GT3 RS, or at least that's our conclusion following the colorful incarnation of both models we've come across so far.

P.S.: Since we also discussed the 911 R, we can't end this piece without showing you what happens when three of the world's 991 units are brought together.
