Again, one highly educational video surfaces, showing the unhappy consequences of not being sufficiently aware and not mastering braking techniques well enough. Suffice to say that riding behind a police cruiser on a busy highway should be a trigger for raised awareness.
Most of the times, the cops are not there to just cruise around, and they are surveying the traffic. It is not that rarely when they spot an ususpecting motorist doing something illegal, such as cutting other off, driving under the influence or, like it was the case this time, using the phone AND cutting someone off.
Now, the main problem, in this case, was a most unfortunate mixture of failing to spot the potential danger... and therefore slow down and stay sharp, and utter lack of real, usable, life-saving braking skills.
If the cops had come to a halt, as we thought first, the bike and their car would have collided, generating even more of a hassle. Luckily for the rider, the car kept on rolling and the two-wheeler closely missed it.
We don't understand all of the Colombian Spanish accent, but it seems like the rider is not exactly happy learning that the driver was pulled over for using the phone and was, indirectly and unknowingly, the cause for his spill.
Anyway, this crash could have effortlessly been avoided with a dash of more awareness from the rider and better use of brakes.
