This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will see BMW introduce yet another interesting model, as the German company got us used to in the past. Unlike in 2013 when the Bavarians introduced the M4 Concept, this time they will be bringing a unique i8 that will be auctioned for charity.
The BMW i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition presented by Gooding & Company will be created both for charity and to celebrate the arrival of the hybrid sports car in the US. The car is featuring a unique paint scheme as well as a special interior treatment and other features that make it a truly one-of-a-kind model.
Being sold by the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, during the annual Pebble Beach Auctions at Pebble Beach on Saturday, August 16, all proceeding will go to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation.
On the outside, the special i8 will be dressed in Individual Frozen Grey Metallic paint while Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery will be used inside, a special type of leather that was tanned using dye derived from plant extracts.
The contrasting stitching will be done in the trademarked BMW i Blue, while the seat belts will wear the same color. Of course, only the best and most expensive optional features will be added to the mix, like the Pure Impulse Tera World package that includes trim accents in BMW i Blue, i8 logos embroidered in the headrests, laser headlights (that are still illegal) and a BMW i8 Display Key.
The lucky man or woman that will be taking this special i8 home will also be the first to get a BMW Charging Station, professional edition, in the US.
To top everything off, the words “Concourse d’Elegance Edition’ will be laser etched in the cabin, according to the press release. However, BMW didn’t specify where just yet. We’re hoping for a tasteful choice.
