The unique Aston Martin DB4 GT-based Bertone Jet will be auctioned at the Bonhams’ Aston Martin Works sale scheduled next month in Newport Pagnell, England.
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro while he was working for Gruppo Bertone, the Bertone Jet debuted at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show. The gorgeous body was based on the Aston Martin DB4 GT, which was released in 1960 to rival Ferrari’s 250 GT race car.

Thanks to its striking design, the Bertone Jet has won several trophies in prestigious automotive events like the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este or the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The car is up for sale for the first time in 25 years after its Swiss owner passed on.

The Bertone Jet will go under the hammer on May 18 and it’s expected sell for about $5 million (€3.82 million). Along this unique piece, several other Aston Martin vehicles will be auction at Bonhams’, including a fully-restored DB5, a 2011 Vanquish prototype and a 1956 Lagonda. Other DB4 and DB6 models will be up for grabs as well, provided those attending the event have deep enough pockets.
