Unique $7M Ferrari to Be Auctioned at Scottsdale

This Saturday, luxury car collectors will have to take a tough decision at Scottsdale Arizona as the Goodin&Company is selling at auction a wide range of rare vehicles, so it will be hard to chose.

Amongst the auctioned models, one can find the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider, a rare and original car that will be sold for $5-7 million by VanKregten Estate, luxist.com reported today. The Italian sports car is one of only 54 Short Wheelbase units factory-fitted with the covered headlights. In addition, this car is believed to still have preserved its original interior.

Another rare Ferrari to be auctioned at Scottsdale is the 1960 250 GT SWB Competizione, which made its debut at the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans. But let's see what made the car famous. It was driven by American racing drivers, Augie Pabst and Ed Hugus and finished  an impressive 7th overall and 4th in the Gran Turismo class. One of Britain’s leading Ferrari experts restored the car and since then it is has been a frequent presence at the most prestigious vintage racing events.

“The Ferarri Berlinetta is a wonderful way to cap our tremendous list of consignments for this year’s Scottsdale Auction,” claims David Gooding, founder and president of Gooding & Company.  “From the unique and extraordinary vehicles of the VanKregten Estate to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Best–of-Show Winning 1932 Daimler Double Six Sport Saloon, the quality of the vehicles available at our auction, whether it be for racing, touring or showing, is remarkable.”

Apart from these unique pieces, collectors can also find more than 20 vehicles from the VanKregten: a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet, a 1953 Allard J2X and a 1937 Cord 812 SC Phaeton and many others.

Moreover, besides the automobiles, a group of eight of the most internationally renowned motorcycles will also be sold at the auction.
