Unimog Party on June 4

The Unimog is not exactly the vintage vehicle that you expect to see taking part in an event of gargantuan proportions, but even a utility vehicle deserves a party when it turns 60. And Mercedes-Benz plans to throw that party in June 4, the day when the automaker celebrates 60 years since the first Unimog rolled off the production line in Gaggenau.

To mark the event, Mercedes invited fans, club members, owners of classic vehicles, drivers and owners to take part in one huge display of older and newer Unimogs at the plant in Worth. As a tribute to the age of the model, 60 Unimogs will take part in the Unimog rally, a display of might that will take to the road between the Gaggenau plant and Worth, right through the Unimog Museum.

Mercedes plans to make the event one to remember, and will thus not limit itself at any one day of parties. On June 5, at the Unimog Museum, demonstrations with Unimog vehicles, specialist presentations, book-signings by famous authors of books on the Unimog and activities based on the Unimog will dazzle the crowds.

Collectors will have the chance to buy a little something for their Unimog from the fair that will be held on the occasion. Called Everything with the Star, the fair will be the place to be if you plan on buying models in all scales, brochures, badges and accessories with Unimog symbols.

If you plan on attending, additional details on the celebrations planned in honor of the Unimog can be found at the following link.
