Unexpected - Frightened Moose Runs Across Russian Road

It seems that the ‘elk test’ (or ‘moose test’) should also be carried out in Russia, as there seem to be a multitude of encounters between cars and moose or elk. Take this video for instance. The driver is doing what he is supposed to be doing - driving. Then, without so much as a warning a moose runs in front of the car. Yes, a moose, in the city, in Russia. Thankfully, the driver was paying attention to the road (unlike other drivers in the country) and applied the brakes gently.
Nobody was hurt but both the driver and the moose definitely had a story to tell their peers. Also, we have come up with two semi-plausible explanations for this event: the town where this was shot is close to the Finnish border (lots of moose in Finland), or the other idea is that the road may have been close to a zoo and right on that day, a moose had escaped and was running joyfully through the street.

Maybe we do need an animal avoidance system, after all.
