Designing a rally course is no easy feat and we're here to show you what happens when one of the twists involved in such a competition gets extra complicated.
We're talking about a series of adventures that took place during the recent Rallye Oberehe 2016, an event coming from Germany. Out of all the bends this rally treated participants with, a 90-degree left-hander, which caught quite a lot of cars out.
As you'll be able to see in the pair of videos at the bottom of the page, the twist in question delivered the most diverse failures, from the classic spins to near-crashes that saw the few well-prepared machines overtaking those that went out of shape mid-corner. Perhaps the most attention-worthy hooning blooper here comes from a Subaru Impreza WRX STI, which ended up going for some accidental offroading after the driver went plow-braking into the bend.
Apparently, the car's setup had taken such episodes into account, with the rugged terrain moments that following seeing the STI returning to the course as if nothing had happened.
If you ask us, the "issue" couldn't have been the visibility. Instead, the entry speed was the one that caused trouble though the uber-tight bend and that doesn't even mean overly high-velocity values.
Instead, the driving surface's transition from asphalt to gravel meant many drivers overcook things, misjudging their braking points, as well as their car maneuvering style by quite a margin.
As we mentioned above, the clips we have here allow us to get a complete view of the shenanigan, so we might as well use this as a driving lesson.

Why was the said bend that tricky?
Sure, this is the world of rallying so that one might expect such shenanigans, but there's something special about the curve that made things extra spicy. If you ask us, the "issue" couldn't have been the visibility.
