Aficionados outside the small circle of Porsche 911 GT3 RS PDK owners might have a hard time understanding the thirst for visual individuality displayed by the latter category.
Many would imagine that, with Porsche only building around 2,000 or so of these Rennsport Neunelfer per year, the exclusivity factor is guaranteed. Oh and let's not forget that we're talking about the kind of 911 flavor you'll never get for the MSRP. In fact, 911 GT3 RS prices hitting $400,000 due to speculation isn't anything new.
Well, the real world shows us that some of the people whose garages accommodate GT3 RS wings simply don't want to be labeled as "the guy with the Ultraviolet Blue GT3 RS," for instance.
And this is how we end up with cars such as the one in the images below. Coming from RPM-Photography (via Autogespot), the pics show a GT3 RS dressed in the hue mentioned above, which has received a Martini Livery.
Sure, the color scheme paying tribute to the famous collaboration between Zuffenhausen and the company that keeps people happy at times is anything but new, but the way in which this complements the factory color of the car makes the whole thing worthy of our attention.
The GT3 RS was unfortunately caught in the Zurich traffic when it happened to meet the camera, but since Switzerland seems to have a thing for 911s, such a sight is not out of the ordinary over there. After all, daily driving your track-savvy 911, the kind of move that makes one a hero on the internet, does include such moments.
P.S.: Those of you willing to see other custom 911 GT3 RS flavors should check out this fully resprayed example (what? the owner wanted the kind of Orange he had dreamed about) or this worn-out Martini livery. There are also owners for whom Porsche Exclusive's Paint to Sample option is enough, though.
