Fiat may have pulled the plug on the 124 Spider in Europe, but we have the perfect replacement for their little 124-based rally car. That thing was powered by a small four-cylinder engine, but we always say V8s make everything much better... along with widebody kits.
This is obviously a rendering, not a real car. But you can't say it's not based in reality. If the multitude of widebody projects released by Dodge isn't enough, we also have equivalents from the aftermarket boys, such as SpeedKore.

Some would argue the Challenger is not a sports car, and while we agree that it's become quite a common sight, there's nothing bad about that. Besides the neo-classical looks, the coup' also has a relatively reliable engine and comfortable suspension.

Let's not forget that Dodge also makes the Challenger GT AWD. This really would make a weird but wonderful rally car!

The 124 rally car competed in the R-GT class on both normal roads and the rough stuff. It went up against the likes of the Alpine A110 or the Lotus Exige, and it would be pretty funny to have a massive Dodge in that kind of company.

Digital artist Brad Builds has seen fit to add wheel-hugging body extensions and simple spoilers. The roof air scoop is what sells the "I'm a rally car" look. Of course, this being a 3D model that doesn't require actual fabrication, we have some creative accessories too. These include a JDM-style external radiator, a hood scoop and too many exhaust pipes. In addition to the mufflers out the back, more pipes are coming out the side for some reason, maybe to get Viper owners interested.

This Instagram post comes bundled up with the artist's 2019 wrap-up and New Year's resolutions. If our account went from 600 to 180,000 in a year, we'd be pretty hopeful as well.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
