Meet the toughest scooter ever made. This 1950s vespa was modified to carry a huge (for a scooter) 75mm M20 recoilless rifle made for the US military back in World War II. It is unclear whether it works or not, but one thing is certain - it looks awesome!
Apparently, around 800 vespas were fitted with this massive gun and they were used by the French airborne forces. Forget Harleys and big bikes in general - riding this, despite it being a Vespa, is one of the manliest things one could do.

Back when it was in working order, the gun couldn’t be fired while it was being ridden, as it required stabilizers which could only be lowered while it was stationary. If one was to run out of ammo for the big gun, the scooter had a whicker basket full of “rocket propelled grenades”, just in case!

The Vespa is not restaured and it estimated to cost somewhere between €12,000 and €15,000. Thankfully, there are many Vespa enthusiasts and spare original parts are available. We sincerely hope it gets restored as it’s definitely unique and it will make everybody smile, and that’s rare in these dark times we live in.
