Two-wheel thrill seekers prepare your bank account and get ready to submit your reservation because Ariel has finally revealed its amazing and highly-exclusive Ace R performance naked bike.
Ariel came up with the VFR1200F-powered Ace supernaked in 2014, producing over 50 units so far and gaining a ton of experience in the process. Recently, the company’s engineers though the platform can get even better and started working on the R version, which is shown here now before making public debut at the Motorcycle Live show this weekend.

Recognizable by the carbon fiber minimalistic bodywork, black pearl frame, and gold anodized parts, the Ariel Ace R comes as a Limited Edition model and only 10 units will be built and sold worldwide.

“Every Ace is unique to its owner, but we wanted to make a truly special bike that built on knowledge gained from other Ariel Limited Editions such as the Atom V8 and Mugen,” Ariel General Manager Tom Siebert said. “After 17 years slowly building Ariel to where it is today we understand low volume vehicles, as well as the customers that buy them, and we know that the extra performance plus our usual scrupulous attention to detail on this special motorcycle will be very appealing”.

Ariel teamed up with Mark ‘Brains’ Woodage of MJW Specialists to boost the V4 engine’s power from 173 to 201 hp. Torque also increased from 129 Nm (95 lb-ft) to 142 Nm (105 lb-ft). Mark currently works in MotoGP as the Technical Director for the Honda SIC Moto3 Racing Team and has built motorcycles for Domestic and World Championships since 1990.

Ariel claims the Ace R has the latest and lightest frame, along with a new headstock angle, Ohlins forks and rear shock as well as carbon fiber rims, all contributing to a more precise handling.

The Ace R will be produced in Somerset at the Ariel factory with the first customer bikes available in Spring 2017. Prices start at £49,995 + VAT.
