Electric cars are slowly gaining acceptance in the UK, but with not that much interest from the government, sales of such vehicles are slow to pick up. Thankfully, the automakers themselves, through their dealer networks, are still trying to spur on the idea of buying an EV, in the UK, with special offers and discounts.
Now, it`s the turn of Nissan's Leaf, which has just gotten a £2,500 list price cut. It now costs just £23,490, after the £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant has been deducted, so it is entering the reasonably-priced side of the market.

However, while it may seem expensive, it is really worth your consideration, as the car comes with a lot of standard equipment, which goes some way to justify the high asking price. The car gets smartphone-adjustable heating, air conditioning and state of charge monitoring, as well as reversing camera, LED DRLs, Bluetooth connectivity and keyless entry and go.

Paul Willcox, Senior VP of Nissan Europe, said: “There is no doubt that Nissan LEAF is a revolution and existing customers are passionate in their belief that zero-emission mobility is not the future, but is here now [ . . . ] Nissan’s objective for LEAF has always been to bring zero-emission mobility within reach of the mass-market. Our price reduction underlines that commitment and with no price premium even more motorists will become believers.
