UK 1000 Registration Plate Sold for 80,000 GBP

It seems that the British just love personalized number plates, as it has been proven on different occasions that they are willing to pay incredible amounts of money for one which will fit their personality.

This is not something that happens rarely, as the British DVLA Personalized Registrations announced today that it has sold the 1OOO number plate for the amazing amount of 80,000 GBP.

The number plate 1OOO managed to get the 80,000 GBP this morning in a staggering auction that took place at the Haycock Hotel in Wansford, Cambridgeshire. Everybody was amazed especially as the number plate sold for more than 10 times the reserve price, says zercustoms.com.

The second place at the auction was taken by the 1 LFD number. The new owner pay 20,000 GPB for the privilege of having it on one of his cars. We dare to presume he has more than one car as long as he can afford the luxury of paying enough money to buy two Fiats 500 for a license plate.

“The year could not have got off to a finer start, we were hoping for big things from 1 OOO and the registration delivered. Roll on the rest of the year which will see other triple O plates coming into the fray.”, said Damian Lawson, DVLA Personalized Registrations’ Marketing Manage.

DVLA Personalized Registrations second auction of the year will be held at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United, from Wednesday, March 24. There you’ll be able to bid for the 2000 license plate.
