As part of their continuous expansion throughout the world, Uber has recently announced a new partnership with McLaren Automotive. The users of the ridesharing service from Dubai are offered the chance to drive the McLaren 650S in a 15-minute test drive on Saturday, between 2pm and 6pm.
While the world is split in half still deciding whether to accept Uber or not (legally, in some countries), the giant ridesharing service is expanding with a huge speed. It's growing so fast some consider it to be quite dangerous for the industry.
So it was only natural for the service to hit one of the most luxurious cities out there. But when it comes to Dubai, taking a cab, is not what us, normal people do. No, in the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates, asking for a ride home has to be something in style.
So folks over at Uber probably thought people would most likely opt for the service the moment they realize not only can they ride in McLaren’s hypercar, but they could even drive one. Reports are people will have the chance to drive around Downtown Dubai or DIFC, accompanied by a McLaren Product Specialist.
“Our collaboration with McLaren Automative is a unique experience. You don’t get to drive a supercar on-demand every day!” said Jean-Pierre Mondalek, Uber’s general manager for UAE. The potential hypercar driver has to be at least 25-years old and have an UAE license driver. They can request for a 15-minute test drive using the Uber smartphone app in Dubai on Saturday, December 6.
