Sometimes, great ideas will only give you trouble and this is perfectly exemplified by the Uber ride-sharing app, which gets to be banned in many countries because it’s not quite legal for any person with a car to taxi others for money.
Next on the list is Germany, which according to Der Spiegel, has just blocked Uber from operating on the whole country’s territory. This happens only two months later after Seoul did the same thing.

By not having an official permit under the Passenger Transport Act, Uber drivers pose a threat to local taxi companies and possibly endanger the client’s integrity. Uber said earlier that the drivers using the company’s vehicles are trained and evaluated for the job, but the app also lets normal drivers perform car-sharing for money.

The court banned Uber from operating its services in Germany and if the company won’t conform, it could be fined up to €250,000 ($328,115).

Several strikes burst out throughout the world against the app, but despite the fuss and complaints, media actually helped promoting the service, many people searching and using the app from curiosity. This aided the company to grow even more, with June alone bringing another $1.2 billion in new capital.
