Ferraris are the superstars of auction events, often being sold for amounts of money that can instantly cause dizziness to the average petrolhead.
Now, what you're about to read is not for the fainthearted, but two Ferrari Testarossas will be offered at Silverstone Auctions’ May Sale, taking place at Silverstone race circuit on May 23rd.

The first car is what the Maranello-based supercar maker describes as "the last and ultimate Testarossa", a 1994 Ferrari F512 M (from the Italian modificata, meaning 'modified'). Only 501 were ever built, so the estimated price tag between £280,000 and £330,000 ($423,300 and $498,935 at current exchange rates) is self-explanatory.

The model was brought new in Germany in 1994 and is still wearing the original Giallo Modena exterior paint as well as the Nero leather upholstery. After being sold to Japan by the first owner, the car returned with 11,000 miles (17,700 km) on the odometer. It also comes with three keys, service books, toolbox, flashlight and Tubi Exhaust.

Also going under the hammer is an early 1986 ‘Flying Mirror’ example, one of the earliest and rarest of all Testarossas. As the first car, this one has a pretty interesting story to tell.

First delivered to Switzerland in 1986, the car was originally finished in Bianco but was repainted early in its life in Giallo Fly Yellow. The odometer only displays 45,000 miles (72,420 km), placing the overall value of the Testarossa between £80,000 and £100,000 ($120,800 and $151,030 at current exchange rates).

It was also maintained and serviced by Autofficina while the owner never cared about the amount of money spent for such services, as long as the car was kept in mint condition. It's also a VIP Ferrari in the sense that it featured in a number of magazines including Evo, Octane, and Classic and Sportscar.
