It's been a while since we last brought the 2017 Porsche 911 R under the spotlights, which is why we've brought along a special pic for this clutch special tale.
THis time around, we're showing you a pair of Rs, one that allows you to see just how much of a difference the Zuffenhausen machine's stripes can make.
The grey machine in the foreground appears to be a much more extrovert animal than the dark car in the background and it all has to do with the stripes (we're talking orange vs. silver here). Note that the eye-catching car also uses orange for its brake calipers.
As many of you know, the 911 R is limited to 991 examples, which means we won't get a 991.2 replacement for the stick shift special. Instead, we have something that might be even better.
We're obviously referring to the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3. For one thing, the GT3 borrows the six-speed manual, as well as the generously-sized underbody diffuser of the R.
And keep in mind that you'll be able to choose between two flavors for the GT3. Apart from the standard car, if we may call it so, the configurator will host a Touring Package.
To be more precise, the GT Division Porscha will be gifted with a group of options that will help owners cast the machine in the role of a daily driver.
For instance, we can talk about a rear wing delete (yes, this feature also brings the car close to the R), while the rear seats are expected to make a comeback
The rumor mill talks about Porsche introducing the goodies at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opens its gates next month. Meanwhile, we're inviting you to check out the latest spyshots of the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package, which show a test car doing its thing in traffic.
