While one mistake is enough to cause a road crash most of the times, having two motorists at fault is a sure way to a nasty crash. However, this accident could have easily been avoided if the two fellows acted more sensibly.
First of all I hope you'll all agree with me when it comes to idiots who only use the turn signals only after they've actually started turning, in case they use them at all. The world will be such a much better place if people would actually cease being ignorant and used the damned blinkers as they're supposed to be used: for letting the other road users know one's intentions BEFORE making the maneuvers... Some are just too stupid to understand this, sorry.
As for the rider, he was coming in way too hot for his own safety. Riding in the city comes with a lot of idiots making unexpected maneuvers and riding at lower speed is the only way to keep on the safe side.
Still inexplicably why did the rider choose to go into the opposite lane, when going around the car on the right side was obviously a no-brainer option, with no risk of colliding with incoming traffic. Possibly because at high speed decisions are made in split seconds...
Anyway, this one could have easily been avoided.
