With the automotive world slowly turning to electricity in order to reduce fuel consumption, every automaker is trying to make their hybrid or EV attractive by offering it in a luxury package.
As tests and awards are made almost weekly, the latest one from Car-Specials, gathers the top five luxury green vehicles in the US on the same page and not surprising at all, two Lexus hybrids got to be there.

“Our top five fuel-efficient luxury vehicles are all powered electrically in some capacity, which says something about where the automotive industry is headed,” said Roger Laurendeau, president of Car-Specials.com. “You don’t have to look back very far to a time when luxury automakers had little interest in making hybrid or electric vehicles because they didn’t think these kinds of cars would sell. At Car-Specials.com, we know that consumers are gravitating more and more toward fuel-sipping, environmentally friendly cars. We are happy to help them find useful information, compare special offers, and find their next ‘green’ vehicle.”

The Lexus CT 200h made it on third, the compact luxury car is the cheapest hybrid from Lexus. At $32,050, the CT offers the versatility of a hatchback and a fuel economy of 42 mpg (5.6 l/100 km). Just bellow the CT we find the ES 300h. For $7,200 more than the luxury hatch, you get the redesigned ES available exclusive with Bamboo Trim. It generates 200 horsepower in total and offers 40 mpg (5.8 l/100 km).
