Even though this is probably the first time we've ever heard about the existence of “the world's biggest competition honoring achievement in company annual reports” we should probably congratulate Daimler AG for their recent success at the ARC Awards.
Held for the 27th consecutive time, the ARC (Annual Report Competition) Awards are organized by the independent award organization Mercomm, based in New York City.

Daimler's Annual Report for last year has apparently been honored with five award certificates at this year's ARC Awards event. Out of a total of almost 2,300 annual reports form 34 countries, the Germans received “Gold” in the categories of Traditional Annual Report and Print & Production, “Bronze” in the categories of Photography and Cover Photo/Design.

On top of those, the Daimler AG 2012 Annual Report also received “Honors” in the Interior Design Category.

“We are very happy about these awards, which are similar to the Oscars for annual reports. They show that we have successfully combined solid financial reporting with optical design and the emotionality of the brands and products”, said Jorg Howe, company spokesman and Head of Global Communications at Daimler AG.

As long as they're happy, we're happy. If you're both interested and fluent in German, you can check out the Daimler 2012 Annual Report here.
