That’s right, the guys will also be doing their racing for a charitable cause, wearing a special livery on the outside. But what does a special livery have to do with charity?

Well, the whole point of wearing it is to raise awareness for the “Belgian Foundation against Cancer”, a charity organization for whom the Belgian Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS will be racing.

The bonnet of the Z4 GT3 will be wearing the portraits of the three drivers behind its wheel, Zanardi, Glock and Spengler, all of them done in comic book style, paying homage to the iconic Belgian comic series about racing driver Michel Vaillant.

The caption ‘Vrooaaw’ will be written on the side of the car, similar to the style of the car that was the star of the series since 1957. The strip appeared in the “Tintin” comic and is in the tradition of the famous “Tim & Struppi” stories. Even today, new “Michel Vaillant” adventures are being published.

“Our priority for any race is to catch the eye through our sporting success – and we are confident we are well positioned to do precisely that at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. “However, if we also have the opportunity to please the fans with a special car design, we are only too happy to take it,” he added.

The BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS will also bring together some Belgian motor racing legends at the track, offering them all some time behind the wheel. Under the slogan “Marc VDS & Friends Racing Against Cancer”, drivers such as Eric van de Poele, Jean-Michel Martin, and Marc Duez will be attending.
