The Porsche 911 GT3 might not be a range-topper for Zuffenhausen's GT division and yet this exact status is what gives it its availability, turning it into a highly valuable track weapon.
Since the 991 generation eschewed the manual, prices for the 997 and 996 GT3s, which still deliver cool circuit performance while literally keeping drivers on their toes, have boomed.

However, don't expect this trend to determine all GT3 owners to keep their stick shift rear-engined machines in their original trim, as if they were fully collectible items.

Let's take the 997 GT3 in the videos below, for example. This Porsche has betrayed its naturally aspirated origins, but the purpose was an octane-noble one. Thanks to the new twin-turbo setup, the flat-six at the back is able to make this car stand out during drag races.

And while we can't tell you the horsepower number of this GT3, we can easily determine its level of badassery by comparing it to a stock R35 Nissan GT-R.

The two met last weekend at a Pikes Peak Airstrip event in Colorado. Given the hp difference between the two supercars, Godzilla was given a hefty head start, allowing it to make full use of its vicious all-wheel-drive.

According to the uploader of the clips, the GT3 responded with an (intentionally) late 9,000 rpm anti-lag launch. The two raced on a distance of 2,640 ft, with the Porsche hitting 194 mph in the process. If you're a follower of the metric system, make that 804 meters and 312 km/h.

And while the first piece of footage below is focused on the actual race, the second video highlights the violence of the TT GT3's take-off. Fortunately, the Porscha was used as the camera car for both clips, which means you'll get a full taste of the forced induction decibel assault accompanying the 911's sprint.
