These days, the horsepower wars seem to be fiercer than ever, from muscle cars to supercars. And one of the fronts where the situation is downright explosive involves the aftermarket world. To put it shortly, there are aficionados for whom four-digit outputs offered by street cars sound normal. And we are now here to check out a day in the life of such gearheads, all with the help of machines such as the Lamborghini Huracan and the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.
The two got together during a recent session of racing, one that also involved a built incarnation of the McLaren 720S and an S197-generation Ford Mustang Boss 302 that has gained a pair of turbos.

Speaking of which, please keep in mind not to use such stunts as an example. In fact, more local drag strips reopen each week as the world tries to move on to the next stage of dealing with the health crisis, so taking the velocity brawl to the track is your best option.

Now, the Demon's 840 hp race juice muscle number is already monstrous, but the Mopar machine we have here has been pushed to around a thousand ponies, because who doesn't like nicely rounded numbers, even as an approximation?

As for the Huracan, this rolled off the factory gates over in Sant'Agata Bolognese as a standard model, if such an adjective is ever fit for a supercar. Nevertheless, its 610 hp factory output has been more than doubled, albeit at the price of installing a twin-turbo kit (to put it shortly, neither the throttle response, nor the soundtrack match those of the standard car). As such, the 5.2-liter V10 occupying the middle section of the Italian exotic now produces around 1,400 hp.

You can skip straight to the velocity battles by heading over to the 1:51 and the 6:17 points of the video below. And, in case you're wondering, the camera car is a mostly stock 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat Daytona (think: 717 hp).
