Yes, I can hear your question: is that Foxbody Mustang really a sleeper? Well, if you ask somebody who's not a car person, yes, which is why those quotes are there. Then again, the owner of the Lamborghini Huracan it drag raced it obviously agreed to battle the 'Stang, so it's not that important if the aficionado knew what he was going up against.
For the record, the Italian exotic's 5.2-liter V10 had given up on its natural aspiration. To be more precise, the Raging Bull had been fitted with a twin-turbo kit, in a job handled by Tampa Performance.

And while the output of the TT Huracan isn't mentioned, the dynamics of the car lead us to believe this is a kit fitted to the stock engine and internals, which should lead to about 900 horsepower.

As for the Blue Oval machine though, its owner explained that we can regard the thing as a Foxbody using the oily bits of a 2014 Mustang. And then some: the Coyote V8 now works with a pair of turbos, which deliver north of 1,100 horsepower at the crank.

And with the contraption tipping the scales at around 2,600 lbs, driver included, its best quarter-mile numbers to date sit at 8.6s and 169 mph - the owner does explain the build is still in its early testing stages.

So while both the Lambo and the Ford are, technically, street cars, the latter is pushing the boundaries of the concept, skipping quite a lot of the comfort creatures you'd expect to find on such a machine, such as... interior panels.

Of course, the said powertrain transplant required plenty of fabrication work, but the plans for this machine are great, so that wasn't an issue.

Now, you can head over to the 2:10 point of the clip below to see the four turbos mentioned above engaging in a rolling quarter-mile battle. Spoiler alert: some of the smoke visible in the video came from the wrong places.

Nevertheless, the part of the video that follows is also worthy of your attention, since this is packed with drag racing action involving dream-like machines.
