Twin-Turbo Ford GT Sets Speed Record at Texas Mile

Highly tuned race car, be they for rallycross, drag racing or Pikes Peak, aren’t as simple to gouge as the regular Ford or Chevy you buy, which gets a nicely rounded sticker for output.
When you are dealing with a twin-turbo Accufab Racing engine, force-fed by a pair of Precision Turbochargers, the answer to the question “how much power has it got?” can only be: too much.

However, you can be sure that racing pilot Sean Kennedy had to man-handle at least a thousand rampaging American horses as he set about his record-setting run at Sunday’s Texas Mile event. Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) was also involed with engine tuning.

From a standing start, he managed to pus the Ford FT to a new Texas Mile record speed of 257.7 miles per hour, even managing to defeat that mighty Camaro we showed you yesterday.

We’d love to see this monster on the dyno right now!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
