Twin-Turbo C8 Corvette Looks Like 1,000 HP For $100,000

Yes, the snails acting as the tail of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette we have here are digitally added, since this is a rendering. However, there's much more to this pixel play than it might seem.
These days, going twin-turbo is more popular than ever, whether we're talking about 800-900 hp street builds or race projects that go well past the 3,000 hp border.

And the mid-engined 'Vette seems to be the perfect platform for such a build. With its sub-$60,000 starting price, this Chevy means one could probably add a TT kit that would lift the output from the factory 495 hp towards the thousand-pony mark while the cost of the project could remain under $100,000.

At least this is the plan, with plenty of aficioandos talking about the four-digit, six figure scheme on social media. And while the conversion rate will predictably be small, we should still see a part of those engaged in such chats making it happen once the car reaches their driveways.

Of course, General Motors' new halo car won't reach the real world until next year, so all we can do for now is feast our eyes on renders such as the one we have here.

And since all that muscle needs to be accurately translated into forward momentum, this pixel play seems to pack drag radials, along with extra cooling, so the hooning can go on and on.

Until the C8 gets its turbos, I've brought along a sample of what $100,000 will currently buy one. And I'm referring to the also-TT Lamborghini Gallardo e-gear (automated manual) in the second Instagram post below, which is as real as they get.

There balance is delicate, though: sure, this is a Raging Bull, but it's a 2006 model and it makes less than a thousand horses (more like below 900 at the crank when on race juice).
