The global health crisis has slowed down C8 Corvette developments, but, thankfully, GM has now resumed production, while aftermarket developers have returned to their effort of taking the midship 'Vette further. And while rendering artists have been hard at work imagining all sorts of aero for the machine, we are now here to discuss a trip down the twin-turbo pathway.
Given the 6.2 liters of displacement that define the LT2 heart of the C8 Corvette Stingray, multiple modding specialists are willing to take the motor into four-figure output territory with the help of twin-turbocharging. Thus, the modded Stingray will be able to give supercars a run for their money.

And the example sitting before us comes from Extreme Turbo Systems, a specialist that knows a thing or two about setting quarter-mile record with the help of snails.

Well, ETS has recently previewed its first C8 kit, with this including a pair of PT6870 turbochargers, PT46mm wastegates and PTE 50mm blow off valves. Now, that kind of hardware, which is supplied by Precision Turbo, can easily help a motor reach the four-figure output goal mentioned above, while ETS will obviously offer multiple levels of muscle.

For now, it seems that the factory ECU of the C8 remains an unsolved puzzle, but the company claims it has come up with a workaround, while dreamers have suggested this might be a piece of hardware such as a Motec-supplied ECU.

Meanwhile, ETS has mentioned that "tuning" will begin by mid-June and you can enjoy a preview thanks to the brief clip below. Once the volume is “set up” correctly, you’ll notice that the TT setup doesn’t mean we’re dealing with the type of soundtrack that leaves one seeking extra thrills.

Of course, once the steps above are covered, a four-figure output number also means that dual-clutch tranny needs attention, but this is another story for another time.
