Twin-Turbo 2018 Ford Mustang GT Goes Drag Racing, Establishes Domination

The mid-cycle revamp of the Ford Mustang has brought plenty of tech goodies, with the facelift now making the most out of the independent rear suspension. Then there's the straight-line punch, with the ten-speed automatic and the updated Coyote motor of the Mustang GT delivering a significant performance boost. And while those outside the aftermarket realm might see this as an argument in favor of leaving the car stock, modding aficionados will beg to differ.

The updates delivered on the tech front only serve as extra reasons to tune the 2018 Mustang GT and we've brought along what is probably the most brutal example to date.

Ladies and gentlemen drag racers, prepare to meet what should be the quickest MY18 Mustang GT out there.

The vehicle still packs its 5.0-liter V8, but the motor has left its natural aspiration behind. The Coyote is now a member of the twin-turbo club.

And yes, this is a ten-speed auto car, with the owner willing to extract every bit of acceleration performance. To do that, the man, who owns multiple modded machines, has entered the racing scene.

The Blue Oval toy managed to find somebody its own size to race, namely a C7 Corvette Z06 that had been taken down the aftermarket route. The factory blower of the 6.2-liter engine made room for an F1X Procharger (we're talking about belt-driven turbo). Interestingly, the Z06 doesn't feature an auto tranny, being gifted with a six-speed manual.

The two monsters got together as part of a street racing night, with the results being stunning.

Those of you who wish to skip straight the Mustang vs 'Vette action mentioned above can head to the 9:39 point of the video. Then again, we recommend watching the entire clip, as this is packed with extreme machines doing what they do best.
