TVS unveiled their new bike called Draken, a 250cc streetfighter. The first time we laid eyes upon the bike, the only thing which came to mind was "this is a Kawasaki. Oh, no, it's a KTM!" Taking a look at the photos we've got will surely have you thinking the same way.
That is because of the generic looks and side-mounted rear shock which literally oozes Kawasaki ER-6n styling.

However, the front-midship of the TVS Draken definitely brings a KTM influence which harks back to the 1290 Super Duke R. The "prongs" extending from the fuel tank are pretty much in the vein of the Beast and even the BMW R1200GS.

Now, since BMW Motorrad teamed up with TVS, it it expected that the new R1200GS was the source of the design. TVS however, claims the Draken is an all-original bike, with no BMW involvement.

Aside this detail, the bike looks quite fun, especially as the max power is said to be 38.5 hp @ 12,000 rpm, with a max torque of 23Nm (17 lb-ft) @ 9,500 rpm. The torque could have been a little bigger for more passing nerve, but with a weight of only 134 kg (296 lbs), the Draken should do well.

No word on TVS planning to actually building a production version of the Draken concept, yet. But the bike looks really cool, and the specs aren't bad, either. With a good price, this quarter-liter machine could bring really good sales.
