British sportscar manufacturer TVR is on the verge of a brand relaunch after Russian banker Nikolai Smolensky sold the company to English entrepreneur Les Edgar.
Speaking to Autocar, Smolensky said the deal was done a few weeks ago but refused to disclose the price. Furthemore, it looks like TVR’s “Never say never” website message is linked to a market comeback, with the UK-headquartered automaker preparing an all-new Ferrari-like sportscar.

“We are coming up with a detailed plan," Dietrich Probst, head of marketing for umbrella firm VIT Technology told Piston Heads. "It'll probably have totally new styling. The engine we haven't decided on. We are keeping in mind that it's a TVR, so it'll be a lightweight and very powerful sports car, half the price of a Ferrari and probably as fast."

Nikolay Smolensky acquired TVR back in 2004 from Peter Wheeler for about £15 million (€17.6 million / $23.4 million).
