Thing is, every now and then, we get to see amazing ways to sell a motorcycle, and this British couple has all it takes for a successful sale. They’ve found and awesome way to present their bike: making fun of each other and at the same time cleverly describing all the aftermarket additions their two-wheeler received. And as the base bike is a 2010 Triumph Rocket III, you’d better prepare for quite a treat!
The funniest thing about all this is the fact that the ad has been posted on eBay by the rider’s wife who seemingly has had enough of her husband spending big bucks on upgrading the bike. The poor guy is referred to in terms of “selfish git” and the likes of that, adding to the credibility of an unnerved wife selling his spouse’s bike for getting a new kitchen.
Truth be told, the Rocket III has been turned into a stunning beast, with a Rotrex turbo charger and a TTS intercooler raising the power figures to 299 horsepower and a whopping 250 lb-ft (339 Nm) of torque, forged pistons and custom exhausts and Tuneboy software, all worth around $11,660 (€8,360). The bike also got a Garmin GPS cradle, Corbin fork-mounted fairing and seats, lined sidecases, rider and passenger backrests.
Since it still didn’t look enough, a new paint job was commissioned to the 8 Ball Custom Paint workshop, with added highway pegs, crash bars and heated grips being added to the list, as well. All in all, the angry wife holds her husband accountable for “spending several kitchens” for upgrading the bike.
If you fancy a mind-boggling custom 2010 turbo Triumph Rocket III, you still have 4 days left for bidding (at the time of writing). You’re not alone, as the auction has 586 watchers and the 4 daring bidders took the price to GBP10,000 ($16,660 or €11,940) so far. The reserve is not met yet, and you can get a Buy Now deal for GBP 14,995 ($24,980 or €17,905).
