There used to be be a saying in old Hollywood: “There’s no such thing as bad press”. It seems that customizing specialists Graf Weckerle live by that idea, as they have been burned countless times for their projects but never seem to change their ways.

However, it’s our honest opinion that they’ve gone too far with the Ferrari 458 Italia. We don’t know what they had in mind when they fitted the supercar with that strange set of wheels and changed the paint scheme, but the combo is sure to catch everyone’s attention, and not in a good way.

Showing a design that would be more suitable in an antique fireplace screen, the so-called “fleur-de-lis” 21-inch alloy wheels are a trademark of Graf Weckerle and are hand-assembled out of 184 individual pieces.

The project is more likely to please a fashion mogul or Madona than Essex boys into subwoofers and hydraulic suspensions, but there’s room enough for everyone in the tuning world.

A hand-painted Graf Weckerle stripe with an integrated brand logo, being executed in red and black is placed on the side of car. The exterior conversion is finished with a set of progressive lowering coil springs, which should optimize the looks and handling. The whole package is a bit cartoonish - sort of like a regal superheroes Batmobile.

A new sports exhaust system has been installed and the engine received an upgrade as well, pushing the total output of the 458 Italia to 600 horsepower. No changes to the 458 Italia's interior have been announced, but Graf Weckerle can spec it to your wishes.
