Toyota's luxury division Lexus is one a mission to add presence and sportiness. Sure, they don't have the LFA supercar any more, but the RC and GS F models are impressive. However, there's no sports SUV, despite the demand for such vehicles being huge.
Curious what an RX F might look like? So are why. That's why we are showing you these photos of a JDM-spec creation. Both the car and the tuning company are relatively unknown, but that's what makes this so special. The Toyota Harrier is a luxury SUV that's essentially a redesigned RX with a smaller engine.
It's one of the cleanest cars in its class, but not surprised it doesn't come with a V8 engine to rival that of the BMW X5 M. Boo and hiss!
Rowen International is the company responsible for this aftermarket treatment. Their package includes a new front splitter with LED daytime running lights, a new grill, side steps and rear spoiler. For the rear, two versions of the kit have been built. One has twin exhausts integrated into the diffuser; the other has four pipes in a setup that's identical to the IS-F.
We believe that the Harrier is the only Toyota that looks better than its direct Lexus cousin. Even with the 2014 spindle grille up front, the Lexus RX is kind of outdated, whereas the new Harrier came with a much interesting edgy design, especially seen at the front. The powertrain is similar to the new NX 300h, a hybrid setup that combines the 2.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor. It's hardly the stuff of legend, so for now the Germans have the edge when it comes to performance SUVs.
