The rivaly between the R35 Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911 Turbo has been going on ever since the Japanese toy came out more than a decade ago, even though the Neunelfer has switched generations since. However, while Nissan used to talk about the two fighting on the Nurburgring, most contemporary velocity brawls involve owners drag racing the two.
Both Godzilla and the Neunelfer are extremely popular drag racing platforms and the example we have here are part of the middle-level echelon, in between the ECU-only guys and those who take their toys to 3,xxx horsepower for drag strip purposes.
For instance, the Porscha packs full bolt-ons, a race gas/methanol setup and GT2 RS turbos - running on pump gas meant the thing delivered 830 hp in the race against the GT-R.
As for the Nissan, this also comes will full bolt-ons, Alpha (+ turbos and an E85 setup, with this pushing its TT V6 to about 900 horses.
Now, while the drag race between the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Nissan GT-R awaits you at the 1:23 point of the clip below, the stunt that kicks off at the 4:57.
That's because we're talking about a race seeing the 911 Turbo S duking it out with a mean C7 Corvette - the list of mods fitted to the 'Vette is led by a 300 shot of nitrous, while the Porsche switched to its 900+ hp setting for this speeding brawl.
So if you'd like to place a bet for any of the races, now would be a good time to get on with the thing.
Now, there's one more aspect we need to discuss before inviting you to check out the street fights mentioned above: please don't use these races as an example and make sure to head for the drag strip when the hooning urges happen to kick in.
