Over the years, the Volkswagen Group has managed to differentiate between the plethora of SUVs that share platforms and it's probably safe to say that no challenge was greater than setting apart the Lamborghini Urus and the Audi RSQ8. Well, the aftermarket side of the industry is more than glad to do away with those boundaries and we're here to check out a comparo involving a stock Urus and an RSQ8 massaged by German specialist ABT.
The battle, which comes from the said customization specialist, involves three dynamic challenges, namely a slalom course, a braking test and a good old drag race. Now, for this story, we'll focus on the last (think: 13:30 timestamp), since so many of you love checking out these quarter-mile brawls.

If, however, you're willing to enjoy the complete story told by the clip, make sure to use the subtitles/closed caption feature, albeit while keeping in mind that the English translation is less than perfect. And yes, the one explaining the differences between the two super-SUVs is German racing driver Daniel Abt, whose family founded the company back in 1967.

We've already mentioned that the Sant'Agata Bolognese SUV came to the velocity brawl in standard form, which means we're talking about a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 delivering 650 PS and a peak torque of 850 Nm (627 lb-ft).

And while the TT 4.0-liter V8 motor of the German machine comes in detuned form, delivering 600 PS and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, the engine now features ECU work, a custom exhaust and intake, as well as a new intercooler that helps keep the intake air temperature in check. Thus, it churns out 740 PS and 920 Nm (678 lb-ft) of twist.

It's also worth mentioning that the ABT RSQ8-R (this is the new name of the high-rider) talks to the road via 23-inch wheels, while sporting an aero package featuring multiple carbon pieces. Even so, the Audi is about 200 kilos (440 lbs) chunkier than the Raging Bull.

Spoiler alert: this drag race is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.
