As we've discussed on multiple occasions, aftermarket developers are currently in the race to bring the 2020 Toyota Supra in the 9s quarter-mile arena. Well, here's a stage of all the madness, one that sees a modded Mk V Supra drag racing a Dodge Demon.
The Japanese machine and the muscle car fortunately got together at the drag strip. And since the aficionado behind the wheel was aiming for some sort of a record (the fastest 2020 Supra, which involves Trap Speed rather than Elapsed Time), YouTuber Demonology, who was wielding the Demon, decided to give the sportscar the hit, thus only launching after the Toyota had set off.

The turbocharged 3.0-liter BMW straight-six, occupying the engine compartment of the Supra has been fitted with mods such as a decatted exhaust, a tune, along with a nitrous setup.

And, according to a dyno run found by the Demonology, this Supra now makes north of 600 horsepower at the crank.

Then again, the uber-Challenger we have here isn't stock either. Sure, the blow 6.2-liter V8 has been massaged past the 840 hp factory setup, but this is not the most important part.

You see, the factory Demon already has troubles hitting the official 9.65s quarter-mile time, which is why this gear head fitted his toy with a small rear wheel conversion. This involves beadlock wheels and drag-friendly tires.

And while the Supra didn't grab the said accolade (here's a quicker/faster car, which is also on the factory turbo), you'll get the rest of the tale in the vid below. Note that you can find the actual drag race at the 5:59 point of the video, while the complete 1/4-mile numbers for both velocity toys await you at the 7:09 point.

Of course, given the modding frenzy mentioned in the intro, we should see new action from Camp Supra soon.

Update:Here's a German-tuned 2020 Supra that has received a larger turbo supplied by BorgWarner drag racing an also-modded F80 BMW M3.
