Many auto magazines claimed Audi was certain to put the TT Offroad concept into production this summer. We think that's utter nonsense, since the Germans took the time to make another TT-based concept that received great reviews at the Paris Motor Show this October, the four-door TT Sportback.
One thing is for sure – a third body style will be added to the TT family sooner or later and we have made up our minds which one we want after viewing the photos below. The TT Sportback must be made, autoevolution has spoken!

Regardless of our personal opinions, Audi seems to love both its concepts in equal measure, since both were taken to to a sunny location in southern Europe where a production TT Coupe joined them for a photo shoot. That's right, this is a TTrio of car that have never been seen together.

The first thing we noticed from these photos is that the TT Offroad Concept is different from the Audi Q3, something we never expected. It seems shorter and lower, which is great for people who don't care about practicality that much. However, we're not fans of the boot design, which is too straight for a member of the TT family, almost like they didn't want to sacrifice trunk space.

The frameless windows this concept boats are cool and aren't available on any small SUV. And that engine… it's an e-tron plug-in hybrid system, which we think some Audi TT buyers might want right now.

Over half a million Audi TTs have been sold in about 15 years or so. Even though it was kind of ugly, the first model broke the mould and became a benchmark. Think about it, Mazda says the MX-5 is the best selling roadster sportscar in the world with about a million units, but that took 10 years longer to achieve.

Now just imagine how many TTs Audi could sell if they were a little more practical, if they had a couple of extra doors and a regular boot. The TT Sportback is a preview of what could come, an answer to the dilemmas faced by young single moms everywhere.

Even though it's a concept, only the door handles and the wheels need to be changed before it goes into production. We like that and we also love the fact that it's lower than the TT Offroad and longer than the coupe. Theoretically, it should handle very well!

Audi TT Coupe color: Scuba Blue

Not much has changed about the TT Coupe since it entered production a few months ago. However, Audi did take the opportunity to highlight a color, Scubablau or Scuba Blue, which costs €670. We think it's rather dull, but the Germans seem to like it.

The engine range is worth a quick update as well, since you can now order the 2.0 TFSI in three configurations. There's the base model with a manual and FWD, which we think is great because it's the most efficient and cheapest (€35,000). After that, you can add the S tronic 6-speed auto for another €2,150 or go for quattro S tronic, which is very fast for only 230 horsepower but costs a small fortune. For the €39,500 that it stickers at, you can get the basic S3 and enjoy 300 horsepower. Who could ever say no to that?
