Here’s the 8th episode of the amazing TT Legends documentary, with the final round of the 2012 Endurance World Championship, the Le Mans 24-Hour race in France, by far one of the most demanding endurance races of the planet.
The Le Mans 24-Hour is the most important motorsport event in France, and it draws huge crowds, with around 100,000 spectators on the track premises each year. The TT Legends team welcomes Simon Andrews back, but only for a test ride in the qualifying session. It’s the first time when he is back on a bike after his crash in the Isle of Man. He manages to put is 4 laps until the pain comes back, but his team are happy with the quick recovery he’s making.

Substituting for Simon is French Superbike rider Mathieu Gines, already named Mat McGuinness for his riding. As Team TT Legends is second in the championship, a good position at the end of the race might help them win the season title, so tension is at the max.

The race starts in searing heat and makes things hard especially for the riders. After an 8th position qualifying, TT Legends are stuck in the 5th for a long time, but this is not enough for the podium, let alone winning. Will the obviously improved bike reliability help them finish all the championship races? That would be a truly significant achievement, Team Manager Neil Tuxworth says, but is it enough for the team?

Watch the final episode of the TT Legends Documentary and prepare for the first 2014 race, the other crazy French 24-hour round Bol d’Or at Magny-Cours, 26-27 April.
