In case you thought that MotoGP and the MX World Championship were the only motorcycle competitions favored by video game makers, here's a truly exciting piece of news. The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) will also have its own game, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge.
The new Isle of Man TT game will not be developed by the usual house that got us used to motorcycle games, the Italy-based Milestone. It will be the French guys at Bigben Interactive who will roll out this new title, with a release date set for 2017. Bigben Interactive already enlisted the services of Kylotonn Games, who were also responsible for WRC 5.

Given the glorious antecedents of Ride and the games in the MotoGP road racing series, Kylotonn has quite big shoes to fill. Even more, Milestone was also entrusted by Ducati with making it big this year with the "Ducati - 90th Anniversary The Official Videogame," a title that will comprise 39 models from seven eras, linking the old glory of the '50s and the high-tech present.

Still, while Milestone games also have a penchant for the graphic details of the bikes, the TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge comes with another strong point.

The Mountain Course is, unquestionably, the "craziest" motorcycle road race in the world, and the Isle of Man TT circuit has a unique vibe that is impossible to meet elsewhere. If the game designers will succeed in capturing this thrilling character of the Snaefell Mountain and also make the gameplay enticing, we might be looking at a game that will sell very well.

Until more footage emerges, we hope that the sound of the bikes will be heavily revised, because it sounds as artificial and annoying as it gets. And yes, the sound is supposed to take the gamer deeper into the Manx world, virtual and digital as it may be...
