"Truth in 24" to Be Aired by ESPN on Friday

You might think that documentary movies are boring and don't worth paying attention to, but this is definitely not the case of "Truth in 24".

If you haven't already seen it, here is the chance for you. The movie which was labelled by motorsport media as "one of the greatest racing films ever made" will be aired by ESPN and ESPN HD this Friday, March 20, at 8 p.m.

"Truth In 24" brings into the limelight Team Audi's recent history of domination at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, without passing over its errors, as the team prepares for the 2008 race. Audi won seven of the last eight races leading up to the 2008 Le Mans race with its R8 gasoline-powered car and its revolutionary R10 diesel-powered car.

"There was an element of uncertainty with this film from the outset," said Scott Keogh , Audi of America's chief marketing officer. "But we wanted to honestly depict the drama, the triumphs and the setbacks of Le Mans racing and spirit of motorsports that is woven into Audi's DNA. To accomplish that it was essential to let the outstanding storytellers at NFL Films do their jobs without interference and with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access before, during and after the races they filmed."

The racing documentary was made by NFL Films in collaboration with Chicago-based sports programmer Intersport and received awards on the 2008-2009 film festival circuit.

“Our team dove headlong into a world we barely knew. We followed Audi Sport from Florida to California, From Italy to Germany, and spent nearly three weeks with them in France. We shot 4 races and over 150 hours of film and HD. We went from a novice crew of three at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March to a fully immersed crew of 30 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. It was an intense, risky, grueling experience, and in the end an incredibly rewarding one. A lot like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, I guess, minus the driving 200 miles an hour in pitch black pouring rain at 3 o'clock in the morning," explained Keith Cossrow, the NFL Films director of "Truth in 24".

Judging by the reviews made by the motorsport media, this is a movie you certainly don't afford to miss.
