Trulli Dismisses F1 Quit Yet

Although his team's future in Formula One is yet to be determined, racing veteran Jarno Trulli insisted that he cannot see himself out of Formula One yet. Less than a month away until his 35th anniversary, Trulli reiterated his desire to continue inside the sport for as long as he can enjoy racing.

The Italian driver made it very clear that his passion for racing is not by far gone and would find himself useless if he gave up Formula One. Regardless of what the outcome of the ongoing FIA-FOTA dispute will be, Trulli also expressed his decision to stick with Toyota for the rest of his F1 career.

“Racing is part of my life. If you take this away I am having trouble because the fire is too much; it still burns,” Trulli was quoted as saying by British tabloid Daily Express.

“The day I say I want to be home or I am tired, or I don't care, that is the time to stop. At the moment if there is a race when something goes wrong I still go mad because I am not happy. I really want to succeed,” added the Italian.

Trulli is yet to score a race win for Toyota in Formula One, after more than 4 years of driving for the Japanese manufacturer. This season, he only got to score 19.5 points after the first 7 races, making the podium on 2 occasions. Winning that first one for the Cologne based outfit is the one target he set for the near future.

“I will stay on here because I have delivered the first podium and pole position already for the team. So my next target is clear,” added Trulli.

The Italian is currently 3rd overall in the “oldest active drivers F1 classification”, being “outscored” only by Brazilian Rubens Barrichello (37) and fellow countryman Giancarlo Fisichella (36).
