Truck Drivers Adopt Herd Mentality - Follow Each Other off the Road

Driving a large truck on snow-covered roads is quite dangerous, and while modern trucks may be fitted with all sorts of electronic aids, and good brakes, it still requires a lot more planning than driving a regular passenger car.
In this video from Russia, something very strange happens. A truck is being filmed from behind, via a camera mounted on the dash of another truck. As they drive along, the first driver notices a pileup right up ahead, and not having enough time to brake, pulls hard to the right, and goes off the road and into the snow, causing a lot less damage to himself and his truck.

The odd part is the fact that the second driver does exactly the same, despite having more than enough time to react, brake and keep things safe. Instead, he follows in the tracks made by the first truck, and goes off the road, crashing into the first truck in the process.

We will refrain from calling the drivers names, but the second crash could have been avoided with extreme ease...
