Triumph announces a small-scale recall for some 2011-2012 Daytona 675 and 2011-2012 Street Triple. The number is quite small and we trust the Triumph guys will have this thing sorted out quite swiftly, since only 41 bikes are affected.
According to Triumph officials, certain motorcycles had wheel bearings from an unapproved supplied installed, and since there is no solid data related to performance specs and compliance to the bike manufacturer's standards, they should be replaced as soon as possible.
Said bearings have not lead to any incidents so far, but they might pose a safety threat, as Triumph's confidence in these parts is low. Dealerships and authorized workshops will inspect the recalled bikes and replace the bearings with the corresponding, verified parts. Triumph will contact the owners of these bikes and replace the bearings free of charge, as usual.
